The Payroll Analyst is responsible for preparing end-to-end payroll processing for 2,500 + employees on a bi-weekly basis, utilizing both UKG and Workday payroll platforms. The position will report to the Payroll Manager. This role is responsible for bringing a proactive approach to resolving solutions, while consistently exercising sound judgment in all Payroll functions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparing in end-to-end payroll process for 2500 + employees on bi-weekly basis using UKG payroll platform.
Work with managers and timecard approvers to approve timecards for employees and ensure accuracy with salaries, bonuses, and incentive pay, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
Create payroll and time and attendance reports to help manage labor and wages.
Works closely with the leadership team to ensure accuracy and corrections.
Reconcile payroll before transmission.
Process termination checks and other employee activities.
Maintaining accurate payroll records including meal and break waivers, manual timecard edits, and off-cycle payments.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and ensure accurate distribution of labor.
Address employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve any discrepancies.
Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
Support internal and external audit functions related to payroll, time and attendance.
Other responsibilities include: performing training sessions on the use of time and attendance tracking systems, scheduling, and daily timekeeping responsibilities.
Responsible for being proficient in understanding all elements relating to timekeeping functions.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of progressive Payroll experience required.
5 years of experience should be indicative of full time status to meet proficiency requirement.
Healthcare experience highly preferred.
Workday experience highly preferred.
UKG experience highly desired.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or closely related field, and/or equivalent proven proficiency in executing all payroll essential functions described above.
Experience handling approximately 1,000 employee size or greater.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Proficiency with timekeeping; UKG Dimensions is a plus.
Proficiency with payroll systems; Workday is a plus.
Advanced skills in MS Excel and proficiency (VLOOKUP, pivot table etc.)
Strong knowledge of payroll rules and regulations including taxes.
Ability to independently research and interpret payroll and new tax requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and present ideas to all levels of employees throughout the organization.
Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to research complex issues
High level of accuracy.
Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment, self-motivated and self-directed.
Ability to proactively manage multiple tasks and workloads; flexible, able to adapt/adjust with short notice.
Flexible mindset with the ability to identify multiple solutions or options to overcome- challenging situations.
Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate and build effective relationships across multiple departments and functions in a fast-paced environment.
Consistent mindset in making sound judgments and anticipating needs.
Proven ability in handling tight deadlines while exhibiting a professional demeanor.
Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
Familiarity with benefits administration preferred.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
$67,000.00 - $78,000.00
If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
